About Dan

I am Dan de Castro — husband, father, lolo, broadcaster, and long‑time Filipino‑Canadian community advocate. Through radio, events, and storytelling, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside kababayans as they build new lives in Canada.

This space is my digital home: a place to reflect, remember, and reconnect with the stories that shape us — from the first winter in Canada to the first time we hear OPM on Canadian airwaves.

Here you’ll find reflections, community highlights, and personal notes from a life lived between two beloved homes: the Philippines and Canada.

Community Work

Over the years, I’ve been blessed to help organize and support Filipino‑Canadian initiatives — from cultural celebrations and charity drives to information sessions or newcomers and caregivers.

My heart is in creating spaces where Filipinos feel seen, heard, and valued — whether on air, online, or in person.

Community work is never about one person. It’s about the many hands, hearts, and voices that come together to lift each other up.
